Listen Using Online Playa

EASIEST WAY! Use our ONLINE PLAYA and easily listen (if you have Flash, RealPlayer or Windows Media Player installed). This is the easiest way for you to interact with the hosts and know which artist/show is currently playing. Click here to use the ONLINE PLAYA!


Listen on the Radio

Listen on our part 15 network of stations throughout East Tennessee! Tune into 105.3 in certain areas of the Tri-Cities


Listen on a Mobile Device (iOS/Apple)

detour MUSIC Mobile App: Download the streaming app here (iOS/Apple OR Android – click here).

Option #1: Listen via the TuneIN app.

  1. Download the Tune In App from the iTunes Store (direct link).
  2. Search for “detour TALK” and “detour MUSIC”
  3. Click “follow” so that you can easily tune into either station in the future from this app.
  4. NOTE: This app may play an advertisement when you first tune in. We don’t have any control over this.

Option #2: Download VLC for iOS:

  1. Search for “VLC for iOS” in the iTunes Store (direct link)
  2. After the install, open the app. Tap the orange cone in the top, left hand corner. The main menu should appear.
  3. Tap “Open Network Stream” (on main menu).
  4. Type in the following URL’s to listen
  5. Once you have downloaded the application, simply bookmark one of these links to listen on your smart phone app:

Listen using iTunes on a Apple product or PC

1. Click on "Radio" in the top, left hand corner.
2. Click on one of the following genres to listen to a particular station.:

detour MUSIC: Listed under College/University Radio and Eclectic
detour TALK: Listed under News/Talk Radio
detour BLUES: Listed under Blues

iTunes can be used on both Macintosh or Windows computers. It is useful for managing music libraries, purchasing legal music, downloading podcasts, and listening to online internet radio.

Or if that doesn’t work, then:
1. Go to "Advanced", then "Open Stream"
2. Type in http://thedetour.us/player/itunes-high.pls (for music stream) or http://thedetour.us/player/talk.pls (for detour TALK).


Listen using RealPlayer on a PC

2. Click on "Open" or "Open URL."
3. Copy/paste this into the box: http://thedetour.us/player/real-high.ram
4. Press open, and if all is well, then the music should start automatically.

Listen using Quicktime on an Apple product or PC

QuickTime can be used on both Macintosh or Windows computers.

3. Press open, if all goes well, you should be able to listen!


Windows Media Player comes installed on computer which run Microsoft Windows.

While using Windows Media Player to listen, you will not be able to get updates as to what song is playing. If you are wondering what song is on, then try using Winamp or the online playa
