The detour...

The money that is raised from becoming a supporting member of the detour goes entirely (100%) towards the stations. No money ever is used to pay any staff member, a fancy "business" dinner, etc.

The money is used in this order:

• 1. The base costs of running the station including: the listener server (like an antenna), royalty payments to artists, internet connection, hardware, music collection, live remote hardware and electricity.
• 2. Promoting the station via: local ad's in newspapers & magazines, etc; online ad services such as Google AdWords, Facebook fliers, etc.
• 3. Saving the rest of it in case of an emergency (mainly equipment breakdowns).

The detour has a far greater reach than a traditional terrestrial station. By primarily being an interent radio station, we have had the opportunity to reach millions of new listeners. detour MUSIC is listed in several prominent internet directories, including iTunes Radio and WindowsMedia.com. detour TALK is also listed in WindowsMedia.com, allowing listeners the opportunity to easily tune in.
