Underwrite a Show

Thank you for your interest in helping a particular show on the detour! The detour offers 13 original shows. The radio host's of these shows put a lot of effort into their shows, and could use some help! If there is a particular show that you enjoy, please consider becoming an underwriter of that particular show.

*Underwriting differs from advertising with a commercial radio station. the detour adheres to underwriting rules and regulations set by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission.) the detour does not make quantitative or qualitative statements or make calls to action. the detour promotes slogans, locations and neutral descriptions of products or services.

How does it work?

When you become an underwriter of a particular show, you will be entitled to the following (some shows vary):

1. A banner on the show's website (located under "Shows" menu) at the very top of their page.

2. Two (2) underwriting spots read live by the show's host thanking you for the support, and featuring a description of your product or service.

3. Being featured in the shows promo that is played randomly throughout the day.

4. Having a mention AND link on the schedule page.

5. Knowing that you are helping to support independent, corporate free media!

Where does the money go?

Although the distribution of the money varies, it is generally distributed in this manner...

If the station's cost have been NOT been met 100%, then all of the money goes towards the stations costs.

If the station's costs HAVE BEEN met, than...

50% goes to the station's backup fund
50% goes to the show's host (for gas, production costs, etc)

The Farmhouse w/ Ben: Eclectic show featuring live jam bands, indie artists, alternative, and much more.

Heroine In The Haystack w/ Anabear: Eclectic show featuring girl bands, rap, pop, alternrock, country, and much more.

Late Night w/ John: Overnight show featuring all types of music

Off The Beaten Track w/ Marshall: Eclectic show featuring rare and odd music.

Randomization w/ DJ optIplex: Playing anything and everything!

The Space Case Radio Show w/ Jimbo: Psychedelic rock show featuring independent, alternative, and much more.

detour TALK, an affiliate of the Pacifica Radio Network, needs money to help pay fees for use of Pacifica's programming. If you enjoy any of the following, please consider underwriting.

Underwriting a show on detour TALK includes the following:

1. A 30 to 60 second spot thanking you (and/or) your organization before AND after the show thanking for your support of the show.

2. A mention on our supporters page thanking you for your support of the program your underwriting.

70% of the money goes to Pacifica (or other show if not Pacifica), and the remaining 30% goes to the costs of running the station.
